Ruderalis Autos

Ruderalis autos are autoflowering cannabis seeds from lines that sit closest to Cannabis ruderalis itself, the wild, short, day-neutral population the whole autoflowering category traces back to. Ruderalis is a northern plant that never had a long enough season to work off daylight cues, so it flowers on age instead, and that is the trait every auto in the world has borrowed from it.

In its wild form ruderalis is small and low in cannabinoids compared with cultivated cannabis, which is why breeders normally cross it out rather than sell it on its own. Lines in this category keep more of it than most. They are the quickest and the most compact of the four seed types here, and the furthest from a photoperiod-derived auto, where that same ancestry has been bred back down over many generations.

The honest summary is that this is a speed and size category, not a potency one. What each line actually recorded is on its own strain page rather than assumed here.

What Is a Photoperiod-Derived Auto? explains how the four types differ, and How to Read a Cannabis Seed Spec Sheet explains the figures on each strain page.
