Photoperiod-Derived Autos
A photoperiod-derived auto is an autoflowering cannabis seed that carries far more of its photoperiod parent than of ruderalis. For a collector that is the whole point of the type. The plant flowers on age like any auto, but its structure, aroma and cannabinoid character stay close to the photoperiod line it was drawn from rather than to the wild plant the flowering trait originally came from.
Set against a ruderalis by photoperiod auto, which has a recent ruderalis parent still showing in the plant, these lines have had that ancestry worked down across many more generations. They sit at the photoperiod end of the autoflowering scale, and they take the longest of any auto to breed.
This is where TAG’s own breeding work sits. Every strain listed here carries the same nine-row spec table, and the figures in it come from TAG’s own grow-tests rather than a supplier’s sheet. Any row that has not been tested yet says so instead of carrying an estimate.
What Is a Photoperiod-Derived Auto? sets out how the breeding actually works and how the four seed types here relate to each other. Autoflower vs Photoperiod Seeds is the wider comparison of the two flowering types, with the timeline and height ranges for each.
